Hebrews 13:5 – …for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [ Assuredly not!]) (AMP)
What do we learn in the aftermath of trauma? Nothing but terror, pain, sorrow and suffering, unless we Invite Jesus In. I certainly do not mean there is no residual suffering once you Invite Him In. The invitation is for Him to walk it with us. Isn’t He already with us? Yes, but the intimacy, the needs met, the relationship are not realized and experienced unless we choose to focus on Him. Fear, abandonment, feeling unloved, unaccepted and uncared for need to be met at the deepest level by Christ alone. As a result whatever level of love, acceptance or care that comes on a human level is acceptable. How? We will know by faith that place of need will be filled by the Life of Christ and all that He offers in the moment, regardless of feelings.
Trauma produces a great need…spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. In the moment, one cannot possibly imagine how God could ever use it for good.
Romans 8:28 – We are assured and know that [ God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
Sometimes, it takes getting well into a circumstance or even all the way through it and even far removed from it to see what God intended.
John 14:6 – I Am the Way…; Isaiah 55:8 – For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord.
Our feelings put up a good fight. We tend to sink deeper into self when the going gets rough instead of running into the throne room of Grace and crawling into our Daddy’s lap!
Hebrews 4:16 – Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need;
Romans 8:15 – For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
Invite Him In. He wants to impart to us today that He is our Enough in whatever circumstance we find ourselves. By Inviting Him In and living the New Covenant life, we will have a place for the terror, pain, sorrow, and suffering. Comfort, encouragement, love, peace, and joy is found in Jesus. We can experience all that He wants to give us in exchange for our fears and pain. After all, He is our FOUNTAIN OF LIFE!
